Friday, December 07

We will meet to walk on the 7am ferry to Vancouver.  Catch the city bus to the Vancouver Airport where we will meet Carrie- Anne & pick up the van rental.  Drive to Seattle for shopping at Experience, Sirena Rosa and on Capital Hill.  Drive to the airport to return the van and check in for the flight at 6:00pm.  Depart Seattle at 8:00pm.

Saturday, December 08

Arrive in Tampa at 8:20am.  Take a taxi to the pier to board the ship, Carnival Inspiration, at 12:30pm.

Arrive in Tampa at 7:00am.  Carrie- Anne will fly home and Adeesha, Anthony, Charles, Christina, Erica & Neil will pick up the mini-van and drive to Orlando. Tonight, starting at 6pm is the Semi-Finals of the World Salsa Championships and a Puerto Rican Party with dancing to live band El Gran Combo from Puerto Rico.

Friday, December 14

Day at Disney World Epcot Centre.  Tonight, starting at 6pm is the second half of the Semi-Finals for the World Salsa Championships and dancing to a live band at the New York Party with a tribute to Tito Puente, Machito and Tito Rodriguez.  

Saturday, December 15

Day at Disney World Fantasyland.  Tonight, starting at 6pm is the Finals of the World Salsa Championships and dancing to a live band at the Fania All-Stars Tribute Party with a special performance by Edwin Rivera as Roberto Roena.

Sunday, December 16

Check out, return the car and transfer to the airport by 5:15am.  Arrive in Victoria at 4:25pm.

Wednesday, August 29

We had to stop and pick up the shirts we had at the printers, so we decided to postpone the photo shoot at Experience and leave a little later.  We met at Christina's house at 9:30, stopped to get the shirts and then caught the 11:00am ferry.  We still stopped to Experience to get new dance shoes for a couple of the girls and then we went shopping at Panache & Broadway Boutique on Capital Hill before heading to the aiport to catch our flight.  The flight was overbooked and Morgan and Christina almost didn't get seats, but everything worked out and we got on the plane without a problem. 

Thursday, August 30

We arrived at the Newark Airport at 6:33am and had to wait around for our shuttle to pick us up.  It finally came and we transferred to the Hilton New York, in MidTown for our 5 night stay.  They didn't have any rooms ready for us but did promise to get us all on one floor.  They held our bags for us and we took off for a full day of sightseeing.  We won’t be able to check in yet so we’ll drop our bags at the hotel and go sightseeing.  We walked past Radio City Music Hall, the NBC Studios where the Rainbow Room is, and Rockefeller Center to St Patrick's Cathedral.  We stopped into the Cole Haan store to see the new high heels they are making with airbags in the soles using Nike Air technology.  We continued thropugh the Diamond Center to Times Square and Broadway and then to Bryant Park where they were setting up the tents and the runways for Fashion Week.  We took pictures on the lions outside the New York Public Library and then continued past the Empire State Building to Grand Central Terminal where we stopped for a quick drink before jumping on the subway.  Some of the group got off at the World Trade Center Site and Erica and Christina continued on to Battery Park for a view of the Statue of Liberty.  The group met up again in the markets on Canal & Broadway where we shopped a bit before heading back to the hotel to register for the congress.  Once we were registered and checked in, it was time for rehearsal.  We ran the choreography a few times and then went up the street to Cafe Metro for dinner.  We finally got to come back and take a shower just in time to see the performances at 9:30.  We danced until 3:am and then fell into bed.  

Friday, August 31

            We got up early to rehease again before our tech rehearsal.  Tech was at noon and then we took it easy until Eddie
             Torres 2 hour beginner class at 3pm.  We had break after class to grab a bite to eat and then the girls met at 6:30for hair &
             makeup.  The guys joined us at 7:30pm and at 8:30pm we headed downstairs to wait backstage.  We were third after Eddie
             Torres and a girl's routine.  After the show we met back in the room to talk about how things went and then everyone went 
             back to their rooms to relax and freshen up before heading back downstairs to dance to Wayne Gorbea until 4am.

Saturday, September 01

             Everyone headed off to different workshops today by Eddie Torres, Thomas Guererro, Dicky Colon, Jayson Molina, Ismael
            Otero and more.  After class, we jumped in the line to see the Youth Showcase at 6pm.  The youth, as always, were
             amazing!!!  When the show was over we had to jump right back in line to see the night shows, so Christina & Erica left to
             pick up a cheese pizza from up the street for everyone to share.  As always, Saturday night was filled with the top performers,
             with shows by Descarga Latina, Eddie Torres, Karisma, Pupy Jayson molina, Santo Rico and more...  After the shows, we
             danced until 4am to La Excelencia & Wille Villegas.

Sunday, September 02

              Most people slept until 11am , but a couple of people did get up to do the workshops right from the start.  We jumped
              straight into the line today again for the afternoon shows.  We got really great seats which was nice because we 
              got to keep them for the first ever New York Salsa Congress Dance Competition.  Kelvin & Licellot from Puerto Rico
              won. We stayed and watched the night shows and then danced until 4am to Frankie Morales & a Tribute to the Soneros. 

              The band was even better then then ones on Saturday and everyone had a great time on the last night of the congress. 
              After the dancing was over, Erica and Christina headed up to Times Square to wander around and check it out all lit up at
              night.

Monday, September 03

Some people took off on their own this morning and Adeesha, Christina, Elizabeth, Erica & Morgan went for a walk over to Central Park.  We managed to see the children's area, the Sheep Meadow, the Mall and the fountain on the lake before we had to head back to get ready for the cruise.  We caught the subway down to Chelsea for the Spirt on the Hudson Salsa Cruise with performances and dancing as we cruised around the harbour and past the Satue of Liberty.  It was a hot, sunny day and we got the chance to finally relax a little up on deck with some good friends.  After the cruise it was back to the hotel to freshen up and then of to Carnegie Deli for GIANT sandwiches and New York Cheesecake.  Christina, Dominique & Laura headed off to go dancing at Taj Lounge, hosted by Henry Knowles.  The band was great, there was a performance by Vittico and a lot of really great dancers were there.  We stayed until the end and then came back to pack and go straight to the airport for the flight home.

Tuesday, September 04

The shuttle picked us up from the hotel at 4:45am and we got to the airport early.  Everyone slept on the flight and we actually arrived early in Seattle.  After stopping for a quick bite to eat, we started the drive home.  There was no wait at the border and we got right on the ferry so we managed to make it home nice and early.  We had a great trip and can't wait to go back next year!!

Meet at 5:30am at Christina’s house where we will double check for costumes & documents.  Catch the ferry to Vancouver.  Stop at Experience for any last minute purchases and a photo shoot.  Dinner & shopping on Capitol Hill in Seattle.  Continue to the airport. 

Thursday, August 30

Arrive in Newark Airport at 6:33am and transfer to the Hilton New York, at West 53rd Street and Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue), in MidTown Manhattan (ph: 212-586-7000).  We won’t be able to check in yet so we’ll drop our bags at the hotel and go sightseeing.  Make sure you have your walking shoes and some sightseeing clothes handy.  We’ll try to go past the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, New York Public Library, Chrysler Building, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, Broadway Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, St Patricks Cathedral.  If we have time we’ll take the subway down to Battery Park for a view of the Statue of Liberty and possibly make a stop in Central Park.  We’ll also go to the famous Carnegie Deli for cheesecake.

Morning at leisure to enjoy New York.  This afternoon we will depart from the Chelsea Piers at 2pm for Salsa on the Hudson with Spirit Cruises.  There will be dancing to DJs Sergio & JR Salsero from NJ and Ricky Espino from Italy.  There will be performances by Xibicion Santo Rico- NY, Bajari De Yamulee- NY, Koncepto- NY, Mambo Clasico- NY, Sabor Latina- NY, Pzazz Dancers- NJ, Jersey Finesse- NJ, Pambos & Maria-  Bulgaria, Daniele & Sonia- Italy, Anne & Anichi- Germany and Yoana & Enoch- Spain.  We will return to the pier at 6:00pm.  Cost is $35 per person with a buffet available on board for $10 more.  The cruise is hosted by Luis Zegarra.  Tonight we will go salsa dancing at the Taj Lounge. Tuesday, September 04

Go to Newark Airport at 4:45am.  Arrive in Seattle at 11:00am, pick up the car and drive back to the ferry.  We should hopefully be back in Victoria on the 5:00pm ferry or the 7:00pm at the latest.
